These songs acknowledge the gift of light, that enables life to go on. The local nuclear blast furnace, nicknamed 'the sun' is pretty reliable,
but has no thermostat or dimmer switch. It's output varies enough to alter the climate, beyond what we recognize as the four seasons.
Absence of light is often used by evil people to hide their presence and activity, so ever more security lighting and night vision technology
are needed where criminals roam free.
